The commitment by Primates at the January meeting in Dublin to work to eliminate violence against women and girls has been warmly welcomed by the Communion’s International Anglican Women’s Network (IAWN).

Five members have been elected to the Primates Standing Committee by the Primates at the recent Primates' Meeting in Dublin, Ireland. All have now confirmed they are willing to serve.

The Archbishop of Canterbury Dr Rowan Williams said that the outcomes of the Primates’ Meeting in Ireland had met his “chief hopes” for the week.

On the final day of the Primates’ Meeting in Dublin, Primates discussed the content of final documents that had been prepared over the week. They began with reviewing the first draft of a working document on the proposed purpose and scope of the Primates’ Meeting. They then reviewed other documents—letters and statements—covering a range of international issues.

La réunion d’aujourd’hui est passée du travail de réflexion sur l’exercice de la primatie et l’objectif et la nature de la Réunion des Primats, au rôle, à l’objectif et à la composition du Comité Permanent des Primats. Les Primats ont suggéré que le comité pourrait remplir des rôles supplémentaires à leur participation au Conseil Consultatif anglican (ACC) et au Comité Permanent, tels que « maintenir» la vie, la vision et l’esprit de la réunion entre les Réunions des Primats; aider à former leurs futures réunions, et agir en tant que groupe consultatif pour l’Archevêque de Cantorbéry.
